Iran box office top hits revealed

According to the Cinematicket official website, the bestselling films of Iranian domestic cinema theaters for August 16-23 are as follows:

‘Mastermind’, directed by Azita Mougouee, (Weekly gross 5,690,590,000 Rials, Total gross, 13,154,270,000 Rials).

“Iran and Spain have agreed to launch a big project in the island of Hendurabi in southern Iran. Many companies and people have participated in the tender to win it. The engineer Saeed Parsa who separated from his wife Roya Azadi a couple of years ago, is the head of one of the companies bidding on the project. Others are also trying to win the fateful tender for various purposes,” a synopsis for the film reads.

‘Texas 2’, directed by Masoud Atyabi, (Weekly gross 4,639,190,000 Rials, Total gross 242,114,680,000 Rials).

“In order to make his dream come true, Bahram adopts a Brazilian child to increase his chances of moving there. The next step which involves a money transfer to Sasan in order to complete the transaction is where it all begins,” a short synopsis of the flick reads.

‘X Large’, directed by Mohsen Tavakoli, (Weekly gross 4,303,530,000 Rials, Total gross, 52,469,220,000  Rials).

The movie narrates the story of 3 contemporary young adults who after being released from prison start following their dreams but some unexpected happenings occur for them.

‘Oath’, directed by Mohsen Tanabandeh, (Weekly gross 4,092,400,000 Rials, Total gross, 11,701,780,000  Rials).

The flick narrates the story of a woman who organizes a busload of relatives to testify against her sister’s presumed murderer.

‘Night of the Full Moon’, directed by Narges Abyar, (Weekly gross 5,472,290,000 Rials, Total gross, 170,539,300,000 Rials).

The movie is about Abdul-Hamid Rigi, the younger brother of Abdul-Malik Rigi who was a notorious terrorist and former leader of the Jundallah terrorist group in southeastern Iran.
